Tes Lacets Sont Des Fées by Dionysos

Dionysos has a great video for their song “Tes lacets sont des fées” of the album "Monsters in Love". The wonderful animation was done by Joann Sfar.

I discovered this little gem some time ago on DRAWN The Illustration and Cartooning Blog. I hope it brightens up all those around me who seem to be as moody und unhappy as me.
Anybody has an idea what the title “Tes lacets sont des fées" means in English?

Accoding to Babelfish - this means "Your lace are fairies'. Sometimes babelfish is mixed up.

or this translation:

Deine Schnürsenkel sind Feen

another alternate:
Ihre Spitze sind Feen

I have no idea what they mean, babelfish is a funny site.

It's a wordplay between "des fées"(fairies) and "défaits"(untied).

Thanks for the translation, François.

The original title is tes lacees (lacets) sont des fees. So a play on word on the word, but also on the accent (French southerners have a rhythm to their language). So really, "your shoelaces are undone", literally. Your showlaces are undown could be a translation. (not in the meaning, but the play on words)

Oh and steer away from Babel fish. As a French teacher and being French myself, please... It is Ok for 1 word, but sentences are butchered ;)

Hey nickspics, thanks for the wonderful translation.
Of course all the online translations butcher up the sentences, but it´s better for us to understand the text, than having no translation at all.

Lizzmcl - I guess you´ll have more luck if you ask for the translation at youtube. they have 2 videos of the song i think. try your luck there and let us know about your project.
