Illustration Friday´s topic for this week is cars. I´m not really into cars. They should drive and be somewhat safe.
A Cadillac is something completely different. Ever since I saw a Cadillac 59 I´ve wanted to have one. Of course I would need to live in Los Angeles to profit from having one of them.
During my internship in LA, I spent quite some nights on the Mullholand Drive - gazing at the stars and enjoying the view over LA by night. The car we had to drive at that time was small and rusty and still we enjoyed the time spent in it.

Very cool!
That is an excellent sketch, very cool car. Nice work.
Good work! I always find mechanical syuff so hard to draw! Keep up the great work!!
thanks everybody. actually i find mechanical stuff a lot easier to draw than living beings.
Great entry...I like your "Approaching" and "departing" composition on your pages! and of course the drawing is excellent.

Love the sketch. It's very graphic. Everything where it needs to be to create good equilibrium on the page.
Great image!
The style reminds me of France Belleville (wagonized). You obviously have a way with cars despite your distaste for them. (LOL Isn't that always the way with things?) Breaking the composition was a brilliant decision and the perfect solution for tackling this subject. Great work.
Thanks everybody for your wonderful comments.
@juj: If this style reminds you of France Belleville (wagonized) it is a great compliment. I really love his cars. ;)
But I´m far from his sketches. They always seem so easy and beautiful. I don´t have a distaste for cars, I just don´t attach any importance to them.
Love this drawing and the fact that you used your sketchbook!
Thanks Tina. In fact I draw almost everything in my Moleskines... except for greeting cards and a few larger pics.
It's recycled paper sold by muji. They are in the process of opening shops in Germany, but you can mailorder from their site.
Love the way the car is cut up into two halves - great
I like the way you have laid this out. It's also beautifully rendered (I love to crosshatch, I find it really therapeutic).
And thanks for stopping by my blog.
somehow my last comment got lost :(
@juliamuji has a store here in munich too and i love the shop. i discovered the store about 12 years ago in london. do you use a sketchbook, or do they have recycled paper as single sheets too?
@Allotment Lady and Sarah:
Thanks! :)
The paper comes in a square spiral notebook with heavy brown carton covers. Have a great day. I might stop by muji, today (love the store, too).
