Jerusalem Sketches - The Schatz Garden

March 31, we took a bus to Ofra and spent the day there with the Schatz family. They had invited Benjamin in January 2008 to spend Shabbes with them and he wanted me to meet them too. They are a wonderful family and I enjoyed our stay there. Thanks, Family Schatz for the warm welcome, the garden tour and its wonderful dried fruit and the wonderful lunch, tea and cookies.

Update:
I forget to mention that in the evening we drove with Lisa and Yecheskel back to Jerusalem to an Asian restaurant. At the Yoja we enjoyed Sushi, Dim Sum, Sake, etc... It has been years since we last went to an Asian restaurant. Boy, I do miss it again.

Jerusalem Sketches - Juice Vendor

The juice vendor, selling Pomegranate juice, brought back good memories.

Jerusalem Trip (March 27)

March 27, we went to a Tallis and a Tefillin store, visited the Kottel (Wailing Wall), Shuks (Arab Markets), the Burnt House Museum and the Golden Menorah, walked through Mea Shearim and Geula, drove to Kenion Mall to get comfortable shoes for all the walking and for dinner we had the absolutely best Shawarma ever at a small shop by the road.

Jerusalem Trip (March 26)

March 26, 2008 to April 2, 2008 Benjamin and I spent some days in Jerusalem. I´m late, but I´m posting some of the pics I took during the trip or pics which I drew in my Moleskine.

The check in at the airport took more than 3 hours in the morning. We met two people we knew on the same EL-AL flight and one lady even had the seat next to mine.

From Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv we drove with a Sherut (shuttle taxi) to the Grand Court Hotel, Jerusalem. After having dinner at the buffet and the welcome cocktail at the bar we went to bed at 9 pm. I fell asleep much later though, as they had an Indian TV Station there and I spent the night watching Indian series. Unbelievable, these shows!

Jerusalem

I can´t believe than I´m already blogging about our trip, though we haven´t even had a look at the city.
Benjamin is blogging about the trip daily, so while he´s busy at the moment, I have a few minutes time for checking my emails on his mac.

Here´s a pic of a shuttle taxi from Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. I forgot a brush so I had to use a Q-Tip for the color.
