The movie theater was built 1910 when a vaudeville theater underwent reconstruction in a house built 1896. Specially the screen shown above is famous for showing the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" every Saturday the past 30 years.

I´m Officially...

... an intern now. I was so nervous last Friday morning before the interview (after all I had my last job interview almost 7 years ago) that I had to do something to calm myself down. So over my pair of tights and under my boots I wore Benjamin´s socks... way too large for my tight boots (he´s got shoe size 45 (USA: 11.5 ) and I´ve got 39 (USA: 8)!). Very effective. I´m happy!

Another Book Cover Illustration

Just by chance I saw one of my drawings on a book cover at amazon. It always makes me happy to see me stuff being used. I think now I should finally take money for my art. :) I do hope that they don´t forget to send me a copy of "Another Gulmohar tree" for letting them use my drawing.

The Gulmohar tree is just beautiful. I love the flaming looks and the scent of the flowers.

Japaneses Farts

I saw this picture by Yoko Furusho on FFFound and couldn´t get it off my mind. When I showed it to Benjamin he laughed and said, that it could be one of my drawings.
Then later today (while showing the pic to my sister) the mailman delivered a big envelope from Joyce Huang, Taiwan. Inside it where two gorgeous notebooks with prints of japanese wood cuts and a key chain with a tiny lucky cat. What a wonderful surprise.

If you haven´t seen her art before, you definitely should check out her flickr stream and blog! She´s 17 years old and just recently she had one of her first shows. I am a fan of her comic style drawings and collages, but what really wows the people are her photo realistic pencil drawings.

I´m glad that we are together in a moly_x group. Joyce, you made my day! Thanks so much.

This year my son´s Kindergarden had a jungle theme for carnival. The pictures show him as a carnivorous plant. (Where does he get these ideas from????)
