Invitation To Dubai!

"i am interested in you. i saw you at the airport in munich last week. can i invite you to Dubai? i will arrange your travel and staying here for few days (ticket, hotel, shopping, etc.)
by the way i am a doctor and have 2 medical centers here, one of them for plastic surgery. would be lovely to hear from you.
thanks"

Doesn´t sound bad: free tickets, hotel and shopping. But then... I´d rather postpone that for a few years - when I can also take advantage of the plastic surgery. :) (I just wonder how he found out my name or email address and why he would contact me as I was at the airport with Benjamin. I blurred his face and the license plate before posting the pic here.)

This car is usually parking in our street. You wonder how he found out? I would be frightened.

Willst Du mir jetzt Angst machen???? Das war kein deutsches Abzeichen. Aber vermutlich hat er mehrere Exemplare davon. *lach

This is a bit scary ...

Sunshine's parents live in Dubai - but they, nor us like it at all. They are there for work, so such is life. We went for one holiday to visit them, and have no intention of going back ...

It is a little odd, but cool, too. The only offers I ever get are more along the lines of "hey, I want to invite you to my mattress, haha"

;)

@littlemithi: Why don´t you like Dubai? It seems such an interesting place with lots of contrasts. I would love to see it.

@blog queen: i don´t think the offers we get differ from each other. just other words used for the same thing. ;)

I think it is very freaky that he contacted you, I'd keep away from this nut!

I don´t even know who he is and I didn´t reply.

Dubai, as we saw it, was just a giant building site in the dessert. There was very little you could grasp of its heritage, history or culture. Tourists come and stay in their 5 star hotels, and go to the private hotel beaches. Or some come just to shop (we didn't see anything there that we couldn't get elsewhere, nor was it cheap ... but then again I'm not into big malls and such...). The population is 80% foreign; they've come to work, make money, and leave ... they have no love of or sense of belonging for the place...

My favourite kind of places are where you can experience what the people are like, what the culture is like, see beautiful scenery, engage in the city/country itself ... Nothing to engage with in Dubai unless you love malls and construction sites :(

If you've never been, then definitely go and see what you think of it ... your impression might be very different to mine ...

Just not my kind of place ...

oh... i remember reading that post. i do understand you and i guess i wouldn´t want to live there either.
but the pics of dubai are always fantastic. i love deserts and usually you see crazy buildings somewhere in the middle of nowhere. it is the contrast which i find intersting. a huge city, modern also in the middle of nowhere.
my brother spent a few days there. he was invited by his inlaws. he said that actually there is nothing much to do. he said one day they went to a market and the other days they pretty much spent the day at the huge hotel.
