Second Addition to Joyce´s Moly_x_20

This is my second contribution to Joyce´ moleskine* for the moleskine exchange group 20.
Joyce´ Moly_x_20
Joyce´ Moly_x_20
It took me ages to get started with this one. I had stopped with the moly_x exchanges for a while, as I was frustrated about all the lost molys and all the demotivated group members. But we are back on track and slowly starting again.
Joyce´ Moly_x_20
Marty (the founder of moly_x) has been doing some reorganizing of the groups and it seems the groups are starting with new power. Great! Thanks Marty!

More information about the Moly_X International Moleskine Exchange can be found here.

*Check out Joyce´s art. Her photorealistic drawings are incredible.

Art Trade

Lisa, whom I know from the moly_x_20 group sent me an email asking for an art trade. As there are phantastic artists participating I joined too. Basically you create one piece of art and get another piece back. It can be a little drawing, a print, a comic or a zine, a photo, a felted creation, a beaded thing... Whatever fits your niche and can be dropped in the mail within a week.
I have to send my art to Dawn. The funny thing is that the day I received the email telling me I´m supposed to send Dawn my creation, I also received the book "1000 Artist Journal Pages" of which she is the author. What a coincidence.
The letter will be off tomorrow and I hope Dawn will like it!

In case you want to join in on the fun, just let me know.

Another Moleskine

Moly_x
This moly I did for someone who contacted me at flickr. He said that he really wanted to join a moleskine exchange group with me. As I have already 4 groups running and a lot of other projects going on too, I had to decline.
But I couldn´t forget his wonderful art and so we agreed on an exchange - only the two of us and without a deadline. So no pressure for this group. It took me 5 months to get the first pic drawn.
During the first scanning process a mistake occured. I like the bar code that was created.

Moleskine Exchange #3: "Red"

Moly_X_19
I love the color red and after doing moleskines drawings for two other groups in b&w, I just had to do something colorful too.

IF: Open

Open your heart and let it out!

A last minute entry for IF with the special topic "Open". Please enlarge the image to have a better look at it. The illustration was made of these words: "Open your heart and let it out". 3 or 4 times I wrote "Open your eyes and let it out" by mistake. I guess, that´s right too.

From Illustration Friday:

"We here at Illustration Friday are so excited to announce the first ever Illustration Friday gallery show!
Open, a bookstore and art gallery in Long Beach, California in Long Beach, California is sponsoring this week’s topic, “open“, and in a show opening November 3rd — in less than a month — they will display 25 IF entries. Which 25? That’s up to you, the loverly IF community! You get to vote on your favorites to decide which ones go up on the walls."

So in case you like my illustration vote for it on IF. Click on the "Open"-contest and then just press on the gray star next to the pic and my name (ksklein). :)

R. C. Gorman (ATC ) (IF: missing)

Whenever there is something missing cuddle up in a huge soft blanket or shawl. It really helps! This weeks topic on Illustration Friday is "missing" (suggested by Brian Blankenship).

R C Gorman

Rudolph Carl Gorman (July 26, 1931 - November 3, 2005) was a Native American artist of the Navajo nation. Referred to as "the Picasso of American art" by the New York Times, his paintings are primarily of Native American women and characterized by fluid forms and vibrant colors, though he also worked in sculpture, ceramics, and stone lithography. You can see some of his work here.

Happy Birthday, C.!

About one year ago I wasn´t feeling too great. Somehow I had lost many of my friends in the past years (due to life changes) and then C. showed up. Right on time. :) It was wonderful meeting someone who just accepts me and I´m very grateful for having met her. She´s a good friend of mine now and today is her birthday. I wish her all the best and hopefully we´ll know each other for a long, long time. :)

Birthday Card
This is the birthday card I drew for her.
