Just by chance I saw one of my drawings on a book cover at amazon. It always makes me happy to see me stuff being used. I think now I should finally take money for my art. :) I do hope that they don´t forget to send me a copy of "Another Gulmohar tree" for letting them use my drawing.
You can read part of the fiction here and pre-order it at amazon or target.

Lee´s Moly
I´m finally done with Lee´s Moly and sent it off to Joyce today morning. Of all the 4 Moly Exchange groups, this one has been the biggest challenge for me. I have great difficulties adding art to delicate and wonderful drawings like Lisa´s and Martha´s scenery. But now that I´m finally done with it, I´m okay with the results.
I continued Lisa´s landscape in light colors in the background and drew a colorful tree in the foreground.

The Gulmohar Tree
Mim´s favorite tree is a pine, but she lists a lot of different trees she liked at the place she used to live before. And suddenly all these trees popped up in my mind which I always looked at in awe. So beside the Weeping Willow you can count the Gulmohar tree (Flamboyant tree), Orange trees, Magnolia Trees, and Neem to my list of favorite trees. Except for the Orange tree, I remember all of them as a common sight in India.
The last 5 years of our stay in India we lived in a very dry place along the border of the Thar desert. Except during the short Monsoon the landscape used to be brown and dry. So imagine driving hours along the road, barren earth, scarce vegetation, scorching heat... and suddenly this bright tree flames up right in front of you. It´s amazing!

Ponderosa by Tricky
Here´s a song I found by chance on youtube. It talks about a weeping willow in the lyrics.
Ponderosa by Tricky
The place where I stand gives way to liquid lino
Underneath the weeping willow lies a weeping whino
The place where I stand gives way to liquid lino
Underneath the weeping willow lies a weeping whino
The mind's a crowd -- search for the the spaces
And turn around time's gone, take ten paces.
Been up ahead - can't make head or tale of it
I drink till I'm drunk, and I smoke till I'm senseless.
You see in black and white, feel in slow motion,
I drown myself in sorrow, until I wake up tomorrow.
The illusion of confusion is not from where I am sat
(Tricky: recycle resemble me)
Different levels of the devil's company
[Primera.]
They lead us outside, take us out quietly
To the cage through the bars
You see scars: results of my rage
The place where I stand gives way to liquid lino
Underneath the weeping willow lies a weeping whino

I drown myself in sorrow, until I wake up tomorrow...

EDM #145 - Weeping Willow (100 Ideas 18)
My favorite tree has always been the weeping willow. The curtains of drooping branches that sweep the ground are beautiful and make the tree a great hiding place. They are pretty common here in Germany, but I have only once been under one. In Autum they have a special golden glow due to the then yellowish leaves.

34. Draw your favorite tree.

I Have Been Tagged! (2)
I have been tagged by biteyourowntail.

8 (food) facts/habits about myself:
The rules:
This time I´m not tagging anybody. But in case anybody wants to be tagged by me, please let me know. I´ll draw a pic for every person (not more than 8) who sends me a link to his 8 fantastic facts.
8 (food) facts/habits about myself:
- Last year I read the sentence: "eat mangoes naked and lick the juice off your arms." I haven´t been able to forget the sentence and find it very stimulating .
- Ice cubes are a great invention. They make me hot and cold at the same time! ;)
- My favorite hiding place during my childhood (in India) was a tree in the backyard. Whenever I wanted to be on my own (sometimes to eat a whole piece of "stolen" chocolate from my mom or a mango or to read my books) I climbed up the high tree and had some peaceful hours to myself - specially as no one knew about it. When I was 19 years old I returned to India on a trip and saw the tree. It was huge and I didn´t know how to get up there. I must have been fearless as a child.
- I love fruits (pomegranates, cherries, mangoes, strawberries, ...).
- I just have/had to try crazy and unhealthy food stuff: green ketchup, strange looking and strange tasting asian sweets and desserts (I could die for japanese sweets).
- My favorite courses of a meal are starters and desserts. I don´t mind omitting the main dish.
- My favorite tastes: spicy or sour. I love any kind of spicy food so I favor Asian food, Mexican, ...
- I´ve tried everything from worm to sharks to turtles to snails to lamb balls to ... (a long time ago). I´m open to almost anything... but I don´t ever want to try something living
- To sum all 8 facts up: I LOVE EATING! :)
The rules:
- post these rules
- each person tagged must post 8 random (... hopefully interesting) facts about themselves
- tags should write a blogpost of these facts
- at the end of the post 8 more bloggers are tagged and named
- go to their blog and leave a comment telling them they're tagged
