Red and Black - Scanning help needed!
Some weeks ago I drew these two pics in my drawing journal. I´m really having a hard time trying to catch the real colors. The red is actually a bright but dark red. There are streaks of gold which blend into the red.
Any ideas how the get a better result?

Werkstattkino (Movie Craze)
See the small table on the pic? Right before the movie starts, someone puts a small cash box and a crate of beer and juice on the table. That is where you buy your movie tickets.

Instructions in week 1 of the book "This Diary Will Change Your Life 2009":
"Make a New Year Resolution that no one in history has ever made before."
I usually don´t make any New Year resolutions, but an idea came to my mind almost immediately: I want to visit each and every movie theater in Munich in the year 2009 (which makes about one new theater every week - considering vacations, sick kids, etc.). Probably I´m not the first one to have this idea, but it is something which I would love to do and I´m sure I can follow it through.
List of movie theaters in Munich which I´m going to visit at least once this year:

Ten Years Ago...
... (one of my New Year´s Resolution) is running again. Hopefully I´ll manage to post daily to Ten Years Ago until the end of the year.

This Diary Will Change Your Life
2008 I bought a copy of the book "This Diary Will Change Your Life 2009" by Benrik. To promote this book the designer duo Ben Carey and Henrick Delehag literally stuck a guy onto a billboard in London. Watch the video below:
Another one of their extreme self-help books is Lose Weight! Get Laid! Find God!": All-in-one Life Planner. I like the title!'Guaranteed to make you smile' - "The Times".
'Playing along with this book might not make your life any better - but it sure as hell will make it more interesting' - "News of the World".

New Year´s Resolutions?
I usually don´t make any New Year´s resolutions, because I´m pretty sure I would break them. But this year I do have some plans.
- I want to get through a full year of Ten Years Ago. (Last year I managed to keep up with the daily posts until June only.)
- Open this letter soon.
- Best of all: Visit all movie theaters in Munich in one year (which makes about one new theater every week). But more to that in another post.
- Try some Macarons.
- Get more exercise.
- Follow my own intuition and wishes without adjusting to others too readily.

Gifts and Presents
2008 ended wonderfully. I had a lot of fun with the Advent game and enjoyed the gifts and cards I received too.
Thanks to Dawn (card), Steffi (card and a wonderful bracelet - where did I put it for the picture??), Steve (for his little booklet), Sterntau (postcard) and David (I received his little comic, which I will be posting about later).
Even better: This year I received Chanukah gifts from Benjamin. Usually I´m in charge of taking care of the gifts for the family, but this year I was lucky. I received loads of great gifts from him. What a great, great surprise. Thanks!
I received The lugubrious Library by Edward Gorey,
Conversations with Picasso by Brassai,
Schande by J. M. Coetzee,
Craft Inc.: Turn Your Creative Hobby Into a Busines by Meg Mateo Ilasco,
365 Days: A Diary by Julie Doucet,
Promod Long Leather Gloves,
and a voucher for a movie theater and more RAM for my MacBook Pro. What really touched me (or should I say "moved me to tears") is the book "Conversations with Picasso" by Brassai. I´ve been wanting this out-of-print book for almost 10 years, but it hadn´t been affordable (around $400 used) for me. I almost forgot about it, until I received it a few days ago. Thanks, babe! This made a wonderful start into the year 2009. :)
