Happy New Year!

I´m almost a month late wishing you a Happy New Year, but better late than never. I´ve been neglecting my blog ever since I discovered facebook and I think I will try to get back to blogging more often and spend less time on facebook.

As most of you know 2010 was the year of RED. 2011 will be the year of ANGST. It would be wonderful if you could join my project and tell me “What are you afraid of”. The project started January 1, 2011. Answers from people around the world are published daily. The website is called 1 Question 365 Answers as I plan to have a new project with a new question every year. Join me on twitter and foursquare to know where I´m currently at. In case we are at the same place at the same time, just send me a short message and I can add your answer to the project.

Or you can send me your answer (text, sketch, …) on a piece of paper no bigger than 3 x 5 inches (8 x 13 cm) portrait format. Contact me for my address.

Spiegel im Spiegel by Arvo Pärt

Narziss und Goldhund has been posting about some of his favorite music and there I discovered great songs and bands. I already posted about Ballroom Stories by Waldeck, which I love. The music is very sexy (listen to the songs make my day, memories or even better addicted).
He also wrote a wonderful article about Maria Callas and how her music moves him to tears. It reminded me of the music, which almost instantly brings tears to my eyes, whenever I hear it: Spiegel im Spiegel by Arvo Pärt. Try listening to it when you are alone and your surrounding is quiet. Unfortunately I can´t post the video Art of contortion on Spiegel im Spiegel here, but check it out on youtube.com.
I hope to discover some more good tunes at Narziss und Goldhund. He has got quite a good music taste - well maybe except for the Coconuts. *lol - Sorry, I just couldn´t resist! ;)

Amsterdam - Day 2 (Part 2)

Houseboat:

3-D letters at the Museumplein behind the Rijksmuseum:

House along the Grachts:

I found a little bottle of ink and I was inspired by Stefan G. Bucher´s Daily Monster to this (I made two more in the journal):

Amsterdam - Day 2 (Part 1)

NEMO is a famous science center right next to the Central Station in Amsterdam. The word NEMO means "nobody". Inside the NEMO visitors believe themselves to be in no man’s land, where fantasies seem to become real. The building resembles a giant green boat.

The I amsterdam Card is great for visitors who plan to see some tourist attractions. It is also for public transportation and restaurants. I liked the two canal rides most of all the free offers.

Van Gogh Museum. I drew it way too dark. Have a better look here:

The only thing at the Van Gogh Museum which you didn´t have to stand in line for, was this staircase. It is beautiful and all black and white.

I was surprised by some of Van Gogh´s pictures and motifs. Check this one out.
