"Never stitch (draw) the river running towards you, as long as you don´t have a master."I was a japanese lady sitting somewhere outside and stitching a nature scene. Then an old woman or maid ran to me and grabbed my stitching frame and turned it around nervously. She told me that as I didn´t belong to any master I was not allowed to stitch the river flowing towards me. Instead I would have to stitch it flowing away from me.
Any ideas or explanations?
