Moody blues

Here´s another one for Illustration Friday´s topic for this week: "The Blues". Another one which I have already posted but which I really like and which is very fitting.

Amsterdam - Day 2 (Part 2)

I found a little bottle of ink and I was inspired by Stefan G. Bucher´s Daily Monster to this (I made two more in the journal):

Amsterdam - Day 2 (Part 1)

NEMO is a famous science center right next to the Central Station in Amsterdam. The word NEMO means "nobody". Inside the NEMO visitors believe themselves to be in no man’s land, where fantasies seem to become real. The building resembles a giant green boat.

The I amsterdam Card is great for visitors who plan to see some tourist attractions. It is also for public transportation and restaurants. I liked the two canal rides most of all the free offers.

Van Gogh Museum. I drew it way too dark. Have a better look here:

The only thing at the Van Gogh Museum which you didn´t have to stand in line for, was this staircase. It is beautiful and all black and white.

I was surprised by some of Van Gogh´s pictures and motifs. Check this one out.

Search Terms 6

Another set of search words which led to my site.
  • paris love hot fight (I guess I should spend my next holiday in Paris. ;) )
  • nude babysitter (There must be something about...)
  • babysitter tiedup (... babysitters... )
  • nude tied to tree (... and nudes tied up.)
  • erotic vampire girl (These words lead to my blog. Cool!)
  • what double urethra looks like

Amsterdam - Day 1

The first day I was quite tired - going to bed at 2 am in Munich and getting up for Amsterdam at 3 am. Still I enjoyed walking around the city and had 12 hours of sleep my first night at the hotel.

I went to a famous coffe shop. It used to be called Chocolata and they used to make wonderful chocolate pralines with a kick ;). But now the shop has been taken over by Abraxas. They do not have all these pralines, bonbons and chocolates anymore, but at least they did have delicious brownies and muffins.

The most important item on my to-do-list was to go to this comic store. It is Europe´s first antiquarian comic shop and it has a great selection of comics in many languages. The Lambiek Stripantiquariaat is as great as I had expected it to be. I could have spent hours there and it took me a long time to decide which comics I would buy for myself. They had so much more phantastic books, but I just didn´t have the budget for that.

These are the 3 comics I got for myself:
So far I have only had a look at Alberto. It is a beautiful comic without text. Only in the beginning you can read a page of the journal of the only character of the story. I´ll update that later.

Amsterdam Moleskine Journal

Finally I managed to scan in some pics of the Amsterdam Moleskine journal I filled with sketches and some text. The pics I´m showing here do not have the same succession as in the journal and sometimes I just drew on any empty page (which I felt was the right one). So the posts here do not show the exact chronology.

Here´s the first page of the journal (The last one is similar.) :

The hotel (Thorbecke hotel) I stayed at:

The surroundings of the hotel with a lot of sights and places to visit (Rembrandtplein, Thorbeckeplein, etc.):

Red, Red, Red

After the last post I thought it would be fun to show you
my red skirt and my red pullover on the red sofa. Can
anybody see me? :)

Red

Did I ever tell you that my favorite color is red?
While I am writting this I´m wearing a skirt in exactly the red shown in the pic and my pullover doesn´t look different either. I should actually take a pic of myself lying on the red sofa. I guess you wouldn´t see me.
Well maybe you would see my huuuuge belly. After each and every holiday I feel like 10 kilos heavier and I can´t see any food any more. At least I´ve got 9 days to recover from all the feasting. Then the next holiday starts with another 10 days in a row of eating.... errr ... celebrating.

Happy New Year!

I went from waist long hair to shoulder length hair a few days ago and changed the color from blond to copper. And today I finally bought myself a Bonsai (the first of my collection ;) ) which I´ve been wanting to have since more than 15 years now. Two of the first changes for the new year. Seems to be a good start for a better year.
I wish all of you a wonderful Rosh Hashana - specially to Mim (who I´ve been neglecting a bit the past weeks)!

Be With Me by Eric Khoo

"Be with me, my beloved love. So my smile may never fade."

Yesterday night I saw Eric Khoo's latest feature film in a tiny, tiny movie theater around the corner (in the basement). (Click on the images to see a larger version. I specially like the one of the old guy.)

The 3 stories in “Be With Me” are intertwined around the themes of love, hope and destiny. The characters lead separate lives but all desire to be with their loved one. The autobiographical life of Theresa Chan, who became blind and deaf, inspired the movie.

An elderly shopkeeper living the twilight of his years in loneliness. A timid security guard pining for unattainable love. A teenager experiencing love, and love lost.
The initial passionate stage that lovers experience with each other, the insecurities that creep in, the fear of losing the other. As fast as love is established through a flurry of SMS messages and online chat sessions, as fast as love is lost through the cessation of communication.

Each character is faced with communication challenges, and each is without physical handicap. Except for Theresa Chan. "Be With Me" is essentially a silent film, and the use of subtitles to narrate the story of Theresa brings close to home an example of how silent and dark Theresa's physical world is. Still that doesn't stop the strong lady's indomitable will to live life to the fullest, and to help others along the way.

The movie is a wonderful journey of life, love, loss and inspiration to us.

Genre: Drama
Director: Eric Khoo
Starring: Theresa Chan, Ezann Lee, Seet Keng Yew, Chiew Sung Ching, Samantha Tan, Lynn Poh
Rating: M-18 (Mature Content)

What A Writer by Charles Bukowski

© Gottfried Helnwein

What A Writer
Charles Bukowski

what i liked about e.e. cummings
was that he cut away from
the holiness of the
word
and with charm
and gamble
gave us lines
that sliced through the
dung.

how it was needed!
how we were withering
away
in the old
tired
manner.

of course, then came all
the e.e. cummings
copyists.
they copied him then
as the others had
copied Keats, Shelly,
Swinburne, Byron, et
al.

but there was only
one
e.e. cummings.
of course.

one sun.

one moon.

E. E. Cumming and Charles Bukowski on one page. Now that´s a page for me and my husband. Usually I hear from writers/poets that others aren´t as good as themselves. It´s nice to see an appreciating Charles Bukowski too (one sun, one moon, one e. e. cummings, one charles bukowski). But then I wasn´t really surprised that Bukowski surprised me.

My Kids´Words 6 (Pavarotti dies at 71)

Luciano Pavarotti

Luciano Pavarotti died today morning at home in Modena, Italy.

A (almost 5 years old)
D (almost 4 years old)

After the Kindergarten:
A:
Who died today?
K: ???
A: Didn´t anybody die today?
K: Well... yes. Luciano Pavarotti!
A: Who is that?
K: That was a famous singer. Want to hear something?
A: Yes.

(Youtube.com - Ave Maria - Luciano Pavarotti)

A+ D: Beautiful!
A: I want to see how he died and when he died.
K: He was ill. He had cancer.
A: Oh.

(Youtube.com - It´s a man´s world - James Brown & Luciano Pavarotti)

D: Mom, did he have a wife?
K: Yes.
D: That´s what I had assumed. I knew it.
K: Why?
D: All men have women if they want to. And Havarotti wanted one, didn´t he?

Nach dem Kindergarten:
A:
Wer ist heute gestorben?
K: ???
A: Ist heute keiner gestorben?
K: Öhm... doch. Luciano Pavarotti!
A: Wer ist das?
K: Das war ein berühmter Sänger. Soll ich Euch etwas vorspielen?
A: Ja.

(Youtube.com - Ave Maria - Luciano Pavarotti)

A+ D: Schöööön
A: Ich will sehen wie er gestorben ist und wann er gestorben ist.
K: Er war krank. Er hatte Krebs.
A: Oh.

(Youtube.com - It´s a man´s world - James Brown & Luciano Pavarotti)

D: Mama, hatte der auch eine Frau?
K: Ja.
D: Hab ich´s mir doch gedacht. Das hab ich schon gewusst.
K: Wieso?
D: Alle Männer kriegen eine Frau, wenn sie wollen. Und der Havarotti wollte doch eine, oder?

Real Age Test

I just saw this Real Age test on Benjamin´s Blog.
Here are my results:

  • Biological Age: 31 years
  • Real Age: 16.2 years
  • Life Expectancy: 88.8 years
Not bad, huh? I´m almost 32 years old but I feel way younger. But 16??? That´s too young and I wouldn´t want to turn back the time to that age - even if I could.

Real Age Calculator

But the test is great. My husband was happy to achieve such young results. :) Why don´t you post your results of the test in a comment?

After Amsterdam

The wound has healed. Now that the scabs have all fallen off I can see some parts of the tattoo where corrections have to be done. But I´m happy with it. You can´t imagine how happy I was when I came out of the Tattoo Studio. I could have hugged the whole world.

I had the tattoo done by Tim at the House of Tattoos in Amsterdam.

The third tattoo is going to be... Shhh! I´m not telling you that. And I guess there won´t be any pics for that one. ;)

You Know I'm No Good by Amy Winehouse

You Know I'm No Good
by Amy Winehouse

Meet you downstairs in the bar and heard
Your rolled up sleeves and your skull t-shirt
You say why did you do it with him today?
And sniff me out like I was Tanqueray

Cause you're my fella, my guy
Hand me your stella and fly
By the time I'm out the door
You tear me down like Roger Moore

I cheated myself
Like I knew I would
I told ya, I was troubled
You know that I'm no good

Upstairs in bed, with my ex boy,
He's in the place, but I can´t get joy,
Thinking of you in the final throws, this is when my buzzer goes

Run out to meet your chicks and bitter
You say when we're married cause you´re not bitter
There'll be none of him no more
I cried for you on the kitchen floor

I cheated myself
Like I knew I would
I told ya, I was troubled
You know that I'm no good

Sweet reunion, Jamaica and Spain
We´re like how we were again
I'm in the tub you´re on the seat
Lick your lips as I soak my feet

Then you notice lickle carpet burn
My stomach drops and my guts churn
You shrug and it's the worst
To truly stuck the knife in first

I cheated myself like I knew I would
I told ya I was troubled, you know that I'm no good
I cheated myself, like I knew I would
I told ya I was troubled, yeah ya know that I'm no good

Before Amsterdam

The trip to Amsterdam was great. I just need to find the time to complete and scan my sketch book and then I´ll post about my stay there.

Mim told me that she was hoping (1) I could relax and have fun and (2) stay out of trouble and (3) bring back some great images.
Her wish was my command. Everything fullfilled... well, at least I have some great pictures I took with my camera.

The Portrait Party 11 - Jennifer Lee

I just received Jennifer´s portrait. Her portrait of me is wonderful. I love the portrait she did. I guess it is my favorite portrait done for the Portrait Party so far.
